What started as a project to see what could be done with two guitars, vocals, a floor tom, and a snare has developed into a unique blend of cutting bluesy-surfy guitar riffs mixed with piercing vocal melodies atop simple, grounded beats. All this combined with their shoegazey atmospheric grandeur and Crawl Babies not only fills a room of any size with sound, they fill their listeners with raw emotion.
After four years of playing around Brooklyn and the Northeast area Crawl Babies are set to release their sophomore album, Death Dance, in which they seem to have found a certain stylistic comfort that was still being discovered on Tangles, their debut album. The sound is cleaner yet bigger, if that is possible, and even more poignant both lyrically and musically. Death Dance is to be released later this fall.
Shana Falana is an experimental pysch-pop band emerging from Brooklyn’s vast shoegaze scene. Combining live-looping of reverb-drenched vocals and guitar with drums, pre-recorded “backing tracks”, and stunning visual projections, Shana’s live experience has often been described as transcendental. Praised as “the most entrancing modern psychedelic pop now being made” by Chronogram magazine (NY), Shana is now touring the US and Europe in support of her debut EP, “In The Light”
Nuda Veritas is an avant singer-songwriter and expert looping artist out of Burlington, VT. Her music ranges from quiet songs marked by classically-trained vocals to raucous synth-driven loop pieces punctuated by fractured answering machine tape rhythms.
