Learic (of The Aztext)
If you haven’t figured it out by now… Learic is one of the illest ‘true’ freestylers in the world. He has a gift that is hard to explain in words… You have to see it first hand to believe it.
The Aztext are a Burlington Vermont hip hop crew consisting of Learic and Pro. Since forming in 2005, The Aztext have released 3 records, and performed in hundreds of live shows. They have shared the stage with Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, Afrika Bambaataa, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, CL Smooth, DMC, Swollen Memebers and countless others.
In a world flooded with monotonous, pathetic rap… Self Portrait takes center stage in providing the proper direction this culture was founded on: beats, lyrics, and pleasing the crowd. Consisting of three members, Rico James, Trono, and DJ Kanganade, Self Portrait pushes the bar with their take on hip hop, providing an eclectic sound traditional boom bap, mixed with a little northeast mountain flavor. Rico James and Trono work the mic exchanging verses with sharp lyrics that will leaving your head nodding till your neck breaks. DJ Kanganade, who is long rumored to have come out of the womb with a turntable and mixer in hand, makes the wax bleed when he hits the decks. Sticking to an analog style in a digital age, Self Portrait isn’t trying to change the world, but you’ll think they should.
S.I.N.siZZle was born in Ghana, West Africa and emigrated to Harlem, NY in 1993 and then the South Bronx. In 2001 he attended the University of Vermont and has stayed in Vermont since. In 2004 S.I.N. met Lee who hails from West Hartford CT at a battle in their hometown of Burlington VT. Before they knew it the two would be performing full length sets all over Burlington’s live music scene. With a style that screamed “Gimme the mic!”, these two mixed intricate rhyme patterns with their own cocky swagger to give the audience a hell-of-a-show. In July of 2005 the two released thier debut CD We Dropped It, You Cop It: The Mixtape Vol. 1. and moved over 2500 copies. The duo followed that up with Medication: The Mixtape Vol. 2 in April of 2007, and the CD received rave reviews all over the nation. In the fall of 2007, Lee moved to NYC to pursue his career goals and the S.I.N.siZZle solo career began. In 2009 S.I.N. was named one of VIBE Magazine’s 51 up and coming rappers. With over 300 shows under his belt, here are some of the notables: Wyclef Jean, Wale, Jadakiss, Juelz Santana, The Clipse, KRS-One, Ghostface Killah, Dilated People, Planet Asia, Sean Price, Wordsworth, Breeze Evahflowin, Bassnectar, Re-Up Gang, Pack FM, Tondef, Brother Ali, Cappadonna, Swollen Members, Smiff & Wessun AKA Cocoa Brovas, Zion-I, Louis Logic, Killah Priest, the A-Alikes, RA the Rugged Man, C Rayz Walz, Akrobatik and the whole Wu-Tang Clan (minus O.D.B., R.I.P.), Nice & Smooth & Mr. Cheeks of The Lost Boyz. Stay tuned for the next thing happening in his bright future.
