With a sound and presence like no other band in the world, Weedeater stand apart from all others, both live and on their recordings. Their unfiltered and unrefined energy surges uncontrollably through the band and anyone who bears witness to their live show. Spite and deep resentment somehow fuse with comedy and maximum volume to produce an indignant, vomitous (both figuratively and sometimes literally) performance that is forced upon the willing yet hapless crowd. You are instantly swallowed whole by both Dixie and Shep’s nearly indistinguishable monster bass and guitar tones, and you are absolutely beaten to a bloody pulp and scared for your life by Keko’s crazed, yet amazingly potent bashing of his kit; with sticks that look like tree trunks turning into a splintered mess by the end of every song.

If you had any sense you might actually take a step back and contemplate your safety for a moment, but then you come to your senses (sort of, anyway) and realize you’re at a f*cking Weedeater show, and this is why you came here, and there is no way to deny what you are witnessing. Pure, unabashed, musical violence in every form. It’s real, and it’s dangerous, and it feels so damn good. After 2007’s critically acclaimed and now classic release, “God Luck and Good Speed” had been toured to death around the world, the boys finally took some time between the mishaps and mayhem of 2010 to write and record their 2nd album for Southern Lord Recordings and 4th full-length CD/LP, “Jason…The Dragon”, which will be released March 15th on both CD and LP. Recorded and mixed once again by the legendary Steve Albini at Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago, and mastered once again by the equally as legendary John Golden at Golden Studios in southern California, “Jason…” continues the legacy that has culminated over nearly 15 years of the band’s existence into something truly unique and masterful.

Black Wizard

Black Wizard is a heavy metal and hard rock band from Vancouver BC, formed in 2009 between four high school friends. Founding members Adam Grant and Eugene Parkomenko – still part of the original line-up – were both working less than desirable construction jobs at the time, cranking the likes of Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, Witch, or Electric Wizard as loud as possible to get through the days on site. Heavily motivated by Vancouver’s thick and heavy scene, full of bands like Bison and 3 Inches of Blood ruling at the time, “The Wiz” was born. Having always followed a true DIY aesthetic, Black Wizard has independently released two full length LPs and a 7” single, selling over 5000 copies worldwide. In 2015, Black Wizard signed with Listenable Records, a label based in France, which released their third LP titled “New Waste”.

In the last few years the band has toured extensively across North America and Europe. Most recently Black Wizard spent last summer touring the US and Canada in support of Volbeat and Killswitch Engage and ended 2016 in Europe with San Francisco-based band Joy. Having shared the stage with the likes of Sleep, Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats, Red Fang, Corrosion of Conformity, The Shrine, Mos Generator, Kylesa, Weedeater, Witch, Black Mountain, Zeke, Black Breath, Yob, Pierced Arrows, Saviours, close friends in Anciients and many more over the course of seven years, there show no signs of them stopping in the near future. Currently, the band is working on their fourth LP with Bully’s Studios in New Westminster, BC, set for release through Listenable Records in September 2017.

Black Wizard is Adam Grant (Vocals / Guitar), Eugene Parkomenko (Drums), Evan Joel (Bass) and Danny Stokes (Guitar).

Serial Hawk

Formed in 2010, Serial Hawk is a crushingly heavy three piece from Seattle, Washington. They bring a massive wall of sound that will bring you to your knees. Punishing riffs with destructive tone, a band that truly needs to be experienced live.
“Devastating, epic, expansive sludge done right. Rather than be driven by grooves, the band relies on a huge wall of sound that worms it’s way into your brain engulfing you in their stunning brand of atmospheric sludge.” — (Heavy Planet Blog)
